Bean Around the World

The sofa chairs are mahogany leather. The wooden rectangular table is chipped and used and looks Asian-inspired. The artwork on the walls are erratic, colourful yet dark. One of them says “ART SUCKS”. An attempt to be ironic I guess, which isn’t surprising given the hipster laden area the cafe is located in. The music varies by whoever is working, but it’s usually electronic. A guy sits in the corner. His macbook is open and he stares at the screen intently. I’m slouched on this sofa chair waiting for my bus which arrives at 5:45 a.m. I’m thinking about getting an oatmeal yogurt parfait that I can eat for breakfast, since I have nothing else to eat, really aside from plain udon with some oyster sauce. I don’t really want to go grocery shopping since I’m moving back home on Sunday. Damn boy can’t make it to see me this weekend for one last time. I was really upset but he’s busy with school and I am as well. I told him I understand and that he shouldn’t worry about it. If he knows me well enough he’ll know that I’m still kind of disappointed/annoyed. He did text me saying “I hope you’re not mad. But I’m just really behind right now. I hope you understand”. That was after he texted me apologizing that he won’t be able to make it tomorrow, and I didn’t reply. I’m disappointed because it would’ve been our last time together at my place, and I don’t know what’s going to happen next. I guess that scares me a bit. I don’t know where we’re going or if we’ll see each other again soon.
